Incredible experience at the Jiu Jitsu Mill. My 4 year old is learning coordination, discipline, and focus in an environment that is both safe and extremely fun. My 7 year old is developing all the same skills, plus growing in his physical confidence and comfort with overcoming difficulty. The transformation has been amazing in 6 months. Jordan and the other coaches are supportive and encouraging while also maintaining high expectations of the students. I couldn’t ask for a better martial arts gym for my kids. The adult classes have been great as well. As a beginner student, I don’t feel like I need to worry about injury or being pushed beyond what’s appropriate for a new student. Likewise, the advanced students are constantly looking out for the beginners and are very helpful as well. Again, couldn’t ask for a better place to train. I recently started attending classes at Jiu Jitsu Mill, and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed. One of the things I love about this gym is that it's open for conveniently, making it easy to find a class that fits into my busy schedule. The coaches at Jiu Jitsu Mill are incredibly helpful and encouraging, always pushing me to do my best and improve my technique. I've noticed a significant improvement in my skills since I started attending classes here. What excites me most is that I can't wait to enroll my daughter when she's old enough. The Jui Jitsu mill is one of the finest martial arts dojos in the region. We visited many before deciding that this dojo, and particularly Coach Jordan were the real deal. We love the professionalism he and his assistant coaches take with their students, knowing all their names, being engaged with them all at all times, even giving equal attention to them even when they are sparring against each other. He also has a non-nonsense approach, which helps instill the right discipline. Our daughter, age 4, started at the Jiu Jitsu Mill in the fall of 2022, a little over 6 months ago. I have nothing but the best things to say about the program, philosophy and positive mindset the practice instills. Not being knowledgeable myself on anything martial arts, it was a little intimidating and it wasn’t at the top of her list for fun activities. I am beyond grateful we went for it because she is SO proud of her mat skills, which she regularly demonstrates at home for us, and most importantly, her self confidence. She was not lacking in self confidence prior to starting (at all!) however the attraction for our family was what happens off the mat - looking people in the eyes, showing respect for self and others, being responsible and making good decisions. The Jiu jitsu mill is a great place to train! The lessons are of high quality and there is a lot of attention to learn the fundamentals properly. The sparring at the end of each class may be difficult and demanding as a beginner, but it is incredibly rewarding when you can perform one of the moves you learned. There are also a variety of classes available in the morning, afternoons and evenings. The schedule is absolutely incredible and convenient for all the walks of life! Absolutely wonderful experience. My son (11) and Daughter (10) have been going to the Jiujitsu Mill for 7 months now, which started off tough for them, especially my son who has never showed interest in sports or martial arts and more into Books, playing instruments and chess. However, the coaches took their time to understand and work with them day in day out, along with support at home encouraging them to NOT give up, today they are both extremely happy and proud of every accomplishment they achieve. This place is a learning tool for discipline and a way to fight obstacles as well as having fun while learning a ton. Shortly after the kids joined, I joined the adult classes, to help encourage my kids when they were having a hard time adjusting early on and I’m happy to say the coaches work well with adults as they do with the kids. it’s been one of the best decisions I ever made. I've been training at the Mill for about 3 months now and it has been an amazing experience that starts with the coaches. Jordan, Jamie, and Nick are everything you could hope for in a set of instructors -- knowledgeable, tough, kind -- and most importantly dedicated to their students' growth. They have created an atmosphere that is welcoming, encouraging and supportive of new students, but doesn't baby them. Expect to be pushed on day 1, but know that it will be safe and well managed. Lastly, the other students at The Mill are friendly and helpful. The upper belts can often be found helping lower belts refine techniques and offering other advice. Did a drop in class while visiting family in the area. The class was fantastic. Many people at the gym were very welcoming, the instruction was to the point, Jordan was very attentive and was quick to correct mistakes in everyone's form, the gym has a changing area and nice showers and the rolling was high quality and safe. Although I've only been enrolled for a month or so, training at the Mill has been one of the most fun and welcoming experience I've had in awhile. The team is incredibly welcoming and willing to help lower level students, such as myself, and the coaches are amazing, being extremely dedicated to helping their students grow. I've always enjoyed martial arts, but being a boarding student, working around my schedule was difficult, but lucky the Mill has a very flexible schedule so I could get at least 2 days of training per week. Wrestling Thursdays, conducted by UFC veteran Mike King, has become a personal favorite mine. Furthermore, the environment at the mill is very welcoming. I had harbored an interest in the “gentle art” for about a decade and it took me just as long to work up the courage to seek out a place to actually start learning it for myself. I am lucky I found the Mill on first try. I had sent emails to about 4-5 nearby academies, introducing myself as an absolute and utter beginner in his early 30s looking to learn BJJ both for my appreciation of its technical complexity and as a means of exercise to help me lose some weight. I mentioned how I was very apprehensive and somewhat intimidated at the thought of walking into a gym as a total, unconditioned novice on that 1st day. Of all the email replies, Jordan’s was the most comprehensive; he answered all my questions, assuaged my anxiety, and helped me get my foot in the door at the Mill. And I’m so pleased he did. So far it has been an awesome experience. The gym is in such a great location, is carefully maintained, and the class schedule is well thought through. But ultimately I think the strength of the place is the people. Jordan is a phenomenal coach and instructor. He has an incredibly sharp eye for detail which he applies to all his students. He is serious, knowledgeable, and emphasizes precision in technique. But he is also supportive and encouraging. When by bad luck and ill timing I was having some family issues interfere with my very first week, Coach kept in touch with me personally via text to make sure I saw my commitment through. All in all, he threads the needle: for me the sessions have been very physically demanding and rigorous; but they are also a blast. I have nothing but positives about assistant coach Nick as well. He is always there to answer questions or point out small details in a drill or technique. Could not be more impressed by him as a young person and a young teacher. Because of the culture instilled at the top, the Mill is a community that reflects the above values. Students come from across the spectrum of ages and life experience. There are very advanced students and there are others more like me. In this respect, I love that the Mill offers a 2x per week Fundamentals Class which is tailor-made for those just starting out and looking to get a solid foundation on which to build. But regardless of the particular class session, everyone to a man has been super friendly, supportive, encouraging, and positive; it’s a really tight-knit community. So I am so glad I found the Mill and would recommend to anyone looking for a place to learn BJJ. It has been such a great experience that I convinced my younger brother to join after about a month. My imagination of the gym was completely different from my overall experience, and I mean that in a good way. Starting off, I really didn’t know what to expect. In my head I thought only of the worst. Whether that be terrible management/coach, sanitation, or lack of care with someones health. However, I was completely wrong. The environment this gym offers you is very refreshing and comforting. I've been practicing martial arts for more than 30 years, and one year ago, when I moved to the East Coast, decided to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but was afraid I wouldn't find a place where I felt as comfortable and at home as my old dojo. I was lucky to find The Jiu Jitsu Mill, with it's hard to find technical depth and drive but at the same time so friendly and welcoming. Then the pandemic hit... but the school reacted fast, first with it's online offerings then with safety protocols in different levels that allowed us to slowly go back to training according to our own perspectives on the risks behind the COVID crisis. Surprisingly, the post-covid Mill is even better, and in the last 4 months, I must say I learned and developed more than the 8 months before that. The combination of the team spirit the challenges created a tighter community feel, And the new ways of training, mixing the best of online and in person, small classes with limited training cells according to your weight+age+skill made learning more effective and more fun. As a parent, I love this place & the lessons it continues to teach my boys. ie. care for themselves and others, time mgmt, appearance. We joined for two separate reasons, one to teach patience and focus and for the other to help with weight management and self-defense and both for stress relief and movement, an added bonus is the critical thinking this sport involves. I enjoy watching my boys in the zone, they perform well because of the way the staff explains the lessons and during practice corrects the moves so they are doing the exercise properly. The staff has been on point with keeping all the kids on task and accountable. Coach Hector & Coach Ashley are excellent with younger kids. My son admires them as do I for the way they are able to quickly dial him back in with any off-task behavior, how they speak to the children, get down on their level and speak with them in a way that they can relate and understand where there may be a disconnect, they praise their accomplishments and make the kids feel good about themselves and raise self-esteem. A while ago I started training at the Jui Jitsu Mill and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in a long time. Brand new to the sport, I was a bit hesitant but Coach Jordan wastes no time making you feel like part of the family. There is no doubt about it, Jui Jitsu is a tough sport mentally and physically but it’s also extremely enjoyable and addicting. Needed some mat time while traveling through the US before a competition. Coach Jordan set up a next day private for me and had two ladies come in to help. Loved the training, learned some new stuff and had the opportunity to train with new people. Another plus for me was the size of the space and showers were available. I had harbored an interest in the “gentle art” for about a decade and it took me just as long to work up the courage to seek out a place to actually start learning it for myself. I am lucky I found the Mill on first try. I had sent emails to about 4-5 nearby academies, introducing myself as an absolute and utter beginner in his early 30s looking to learn BJJ both for my appreciation of its technical complexity and as a means of exercise to help me lose some weight. I mentioned how I was very apprehensive and somewhat intimidated at the thought of walking into a gym as a total, unconditioned novice on that 1st day. Of all the email replies, Jordan’s was the most comprehensive; he answered all my questions, assuaged my anxiety, and helped me get my foot in the door at the Mill. And I’m so pleased he did.So far it has been an awesome experience. The gym is in such a great location, is carefully maintained, and the class schedule is well thought through. But ultimately I think the strength of the place is the people. Jordan is a phenomenal coach and instructor. He has an incredibly sharp eye for detail which he applies to all his students. He is serious, knowledgeable, and emphasizes precision in technique. But he is also supportive and encouraging. When by bad luck and ill timing I was having some family issues interfere with my very first week, Coach kept in touch with me personally via text to make sure I saw my commitment through. All in all, he threads the needle: for me the sessions have been very physically demanding and rigorous; but they are also a blast. I have nothing but positives about assistant coach Nick as well. Incredible experience at the Jiu Jitsu Mill. My 4 year old is learning coordination, discipline, and focus in an environment that is both safe and extremely fun. The coaches are great with kids and make the classes fun and engaging, while still teaching them the skills they need to be successful in jiujitsu. Jiu Jitsu Mill has a great atmosphere, and the other students are friendly and supportive.Overall, I highly recommend Jiu Jitsu Mill to anyone looking to learn self-defense, get in shape, or just have fun while learning a new skill. The instructors are knowledgeable and approachable, always willing to answer questions and provide guidance.

The Jiu Jitsu Mill has been a wonderful experience. I came in 3 months ago and I felt like apart of the family right away. Coach Jordan and all the other coaches do a great job promoting a competitive and welcoming environment especially for individuals (like myself) who are new to jiu jitsu. The quality of training is next to no other and they make sure to take the time to answer all of our questions during training sessions.One thing that I really want to point out is the cleanliness of the gym. Coach Jordan and his staff do a phenomenal job maintaining the mats, showers, and changing areas.

I've been training at the Mill for about 3 months now and it has been an amazing experience that starts with the coaches. Jordan, Jamie, and Nick are everything you could hope for in a set of instructors -- knowledgeable, tough, kind -- and most importantly dedicated to their students' growth.They have created an atmosphere that is welcoming, encouraging and supportive of new students, but doesn't baby them. Expect to be pushed on day 1, but know that it will be safe and well managed.Lastly, the other students at The Mill are friendly and helpful. The upper belts can often be found helping lower belts refine techniques and offering other advice. Even beyond the jiu jitsu, it's a tight group of like-minded people who have fun training.If you've been hesitating to join a gym, join The Mill, you won't regret it.
