Students who have zero to little experience, but who know they would like to start training Jiu Jitsu, are welcome to a Foundation Building Class prior to enrollment.
During this class:
1) You will have the opportunity to meet our coaches and fellow students, ask our coaches questions, and get a feel for the gym culture and what a typical class is like.
2) Our coaches will work personally with you to lay a technical and physical foundation that will accelerate your progress and prevent your from getting injured in subsequent training
Prior to booking your Foundation Building Class:
1) You should have already watched plenty of Jiu Jitsu, freestyle/collegiate wrestling and MMA on Youtube, UFC, PFL, Flograppling etc.
2)You should understand that Jiu Jitsu is a grappling based martial art where we look to take our opponent to the ground, use leverage to control our opponent on the ground, and advance our position through a hierarchy of increasingly dominant positions until we can get our opponent to admit defeat through choke or joint lock (sport jiu jitsu) or strikes as well(MMA or street).
3) You should know that Jiu Jitsu is something you want to do. But you want to make sure The Mill is the place for you to call your home.
This is not the right class if:
1)You just want to "try" Jiu Jitsu. Absolutely no one has ever said they want to "try" anything that takes hard work and effort and actually succeeded. For this you must "DO" not "try"
